Toledo, Ohio – The Toledo football program completed its spring season on Saturday with its final practice at the Glass Bowl.
"We were able to get a lot accomplished on both sides of the ball since starting practice in February," Head Coach Jason Candle said. "I saw a lot of development in all of our positions and most importantly we were able to stay healthy."
Candle said this spring has been important for the Rockets' younger players show they are ready to replace a talented senior class.
"We're looking to see who has done the work necessary to show that they can fill the holes left by guys like Kareem Hunt, Mike Roberts, Storm Norton, DeJuan Rogers and
Treyvon Hester," Candle said. "We have a good program in place, and today was important because we were able to evaluate our guys in a game-like setting."
Toledo opens its 2017 season with a home game vs. Elon on Thursday, August 31. The Rockets will also host Tulsa on Saturday, Sept. 16 as part of its non-conference schedule and travel to Nevada on Saturday, Sept. 9 and Miami (Fla.) on Saturday, Sept. 23. UT opens its Mid-American Conference campaign at home vs. Eastern Michigan on Saturday,
Oct. 7.
