UT to Host Second-Annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day on Feb. 11

TOLEDO, OH - The University of Toledo will host the second-annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, Feb. 11, as the women's basketball team entertains arch-rival Bowling Green at 7:00 p.m. in Savage Arena.
National Girls and Women in Sports Day honors the accomplishments and hard work of female student-athletes in the classroom, in sports and in the community. The day will showcase UT's current female student-athletes, alumni and coaches and thank them for all of their hard work.
The sports of swimming, tennis and soccer will be represented at the event on the concourses at Savage Arena between 5:30-7:00 p.m., prior to the start of the women's basketball game. Those women's teams will each have their own station where they will sign autographs, host an activity and interact with fans.
There will also be videos & photos highlighting all nine UT women sports teams, as well as cheer and dance throughout the game to recognize their accomplishments in the community, in the classroom and in their respectively sports. At halftime, there will also be a live recognition of the teams in attendance.Â
In conjunction with next Saturday's National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the Rockets will host Scout Day. Fans can purchase $5.00 tickets for the men's game earlier in the day against Kent State at 2:00 p.m. and/or the women's game or both using the promo code SCOUT. Both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are invited.

Following the women's game, there will be Scout sleepover starting at 9:30 p.m. in Savage Arena. A movie will be shown around 10:00 p.m.Â
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at utrockets.com, by calling (419) 530-GOLD (4653) or at the UT Ticket Office. The ticket office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

The Rockets (14-6, 5-4 MAC) return to action on Saturday, Feb. 4 when they travel to Mid-American Conference East Division leader Ohio (16-5, 7-3 MAC) for a 3:00 p.m. tip off in the Convocation Center.
