TOLEDO, OH – Toledo (8-5) will head to Louisville, KY on Saturday, Feb. 25 for a 10:00 a.m. match against the Cardinals. UT will be battling for its seventh-straight win of the season.
Â
"We haven't always played great singles matches in their building," said Head Coach Al Wermer. "We need to create and sustain momentum early on. We've been playing extremely hard and together as a team, so this will be a great test for us."
Â
The Rockets are coming off of a 5-2 win over Detroit Mercy. Toledo came from behind to claim the doubles point. Detroit's No. 2 pair defeated the Rockets, 6-3, to start off the match, but UT sophomores Vince Anzalone and Serjen Olmedo answered back with a 6-4 win at the No. 3 spot to claim their seventh-straight doubles victory. Senior Stjepan Sisko and freshman Thawin Suksathaporn clinched the doubles point for the Rockets with a 7-6 victory at the top of the lineup.
Â
UT continued its momentum into the singles competition. The Rockets claimed four singles matches, all in the form of straight-set victories. Sisko has now won 10 matches in a row at No. 1 singles.
