Woodside, Vest Honored as MAC West Players of the Week

Toledo, Ohio – Toledo senior quarterback Logan Woodside (Frankfort, Ky.) and junior placekicker Jameson Vest (Peachtree City, Ga.) were honored by the Mid-American Conference for their performances in the Rockets' 37-10 win over Western Michigan on Nov. 24. The victory clinched the MAC West title for the Rockets and put them in the MAC Championship Game vs. Akron on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Woodside was named MAC West Division Offensive Player of the Week. He completed 19-of-29 passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns vs. the Broncos. He also became the first Rocket ever to surpass the 10,000-yard mark in passing yards. He now has 10,083 career passing yards. It is the fourth time this season that Woodside has been named player of the week by the MAC and ninth time in his career.
 Vest was named MAC West Division Special Teams Co-Player of the Week. He made all three of his field-goal attempts in the win over Western Michigan, from 33, 40 and 35 yards, and was 4-of-4 on PATs. He also averaged 61.0 yards in eight kickoffs. It is the fifth time that Vest has been named player of the week by the MAC this season and sixth time in his career.
