Women’s Tennis to Host Rocket Invitational Friday & Saturday

Toledo, Ohio – The Rockets women's tennis team will complete the fall portion of its schedule this Friday & Saturday, Oct. 27-28 when it hosts the Rocket Invitational.
"We are always excited to host the Rocket Invite," said head coach Tracy Mauntler. "The players love playing on our home courts on campus. We've had a very strong fall and are looking to end on a high note this weekend."
The Rocket Invitational will feature doubles play, as well as two flights of singles play throughout the two-day event. There will be one session of doubles play on Friday, with two more sessions to take place on Saturday. Four sessions of singles play will highlight the slate on Friday, with the final two sessions taking place Saturday afternoon.
UT will look to seniors Sidnay Huck and Colleen O'Brien to pace play in singles competition this weekend. Doubles pairings will be announced later this week, as well as a draw of matchups.
This will be a four-team event, where the Rockets will host Duquesne, Detroit Mercy and Saint Francis (Pa.). Play is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the UT Varsity Courts, weather permitting. Should there be inclement weather, the tournament will be moved to the Shadow Valley Tennis Club in Maumee, Ohio.
