Rockets Travel to Ball State Thursday for Key MAC West Matchup

Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo Rockets will look for their fourth straight victory in Mid-American Conference play when they travel to Muncie this Thursday (7:00 p.m./ESPN3) to face Ball State.
Toledo (6-1, 3-0 MAC) dominated Akron last Saturday, 48-21, in a battle of the MAC's division leaders. Senior quarterback Logan Woodside threw for 304 yards and five touchdowns, including three in the first quarter. Woodside, who completed 17-of-24 passes, hit 10 different receivers on the day. Junior Jon'Vea Johnson led the way with five catches and two scores. Senior Terry Swanson led the ground attack with 123 yards on 20 carries.
Toledo's defense held Akron to just 333 yards of total offense, including just 119 in the first half when Toledo held a 24-7 lead. The Zips, who had just 42 yards rushing on 24 attempts, never got any closer as the Rockets scored two more times in the third quarter to take an insurmountable 38-7 lead.
Ball State (2-5, 0-3 MAC) is coming off a 56-9 defeat at home to Central Michigan last week. The Cardinals only trailed 7-6 midway through the second quarter before CMU poured it on with seven more touchdowns in the final 36 minutes. Ball State is led by freshman wide receiver Justin Hall, who leads the MAC with 6.6 receptions per game.
