Toledo, Ohio— The bats came alive in game two of the Blue-Gold World Series, and the Gold came away with a 9-6 win on a cool and damp Thursday afternoon at Scott Park.
Alec Bukowski earned the win for Gold, throwing 2.1 innings and allowing just one run while striking out two. Offensively, Zach Schwartzenberger and
Dalton Bollinger led the way with two hits and three RBI apiece.
Casey Gose had a great day at the plate as well, reaching base and scoring in all three of his plate appearances. The senior had two stolen bases too, including a steal of home.
Blue had a good afternoon at the plate as well.
Ross Adolph drove in a pair of runs after a towering home run to right field, while
Matt Hansen and John Servello each had two hits. Both of Hansen's hits went for extra bases (two doubles) and he stole two bases, and Servello drove in a pair of runs.
Michael Ryan was 1-for-3 with a two RBI single in his first at-bat.
The series is now tied at 1-1 and the rubber match will be played on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Scott Park.
