Toledo, OH – The University of Toledo will hold a pep rally for the football team at noon Thursday, Sept. 8 on the Student Union steps in Centennial Mall.
 
The Rockets host Maine in the home opener at the Glass Bowl on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
 
UT President Sharon Gaber, Head Football Coach Jason Candle, the Rocket football team, the marching band and cheerleaders will all join Rocky the Rocket at the pep rally to cheer Toledo to a victory over the Black Bears.
 
UT students who check into the event on the Rocket Gold Rewards app will get free pizza and a free T-shirt — courtesy of the Division of Student Affairs — at the conclusion of the pep rally (limited to 500 students). Athletic Department personnel will also be on hand to offer discounted season tickets to faculty and staff.
 
Students can also earn Rocket Gold Reward points through the SuperFanU smartphone app to win awards and prizes throughout the season.
