Rockets Improve 13 Strokes in Round Two of Golfweek Conference Challenge

WOLCOTT, CO – Toledo improved its team total by 13 strokes and is in 16th place following Tuesday's second round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge with a team score of 55-over par 631 (322-309). The tournament is being held at the par-72, 6,261-yard Red Sky Golf Club.

Defending champion San Diego State leads the 18-team field with a nine-under par 567 (287-280) and has three players ranking among the tournament's top seven individuals. Pepperdine is 13 strokes back at four-over par 580 (291-289) with Tennessee in third place at seven-over par 583 (293-290) and Denver in fourth place at eight-over par 584 (298-286).

Leading the Rockets are sophomores Pinyada Kuvanun and Pimchanok Kawil, who are tied for 47th and 51st place, respectively. Kuvanun (76-77=153) and Kawil (77-77=154) were joined by sophomore Hannah Kochendoerfer with UT's best round of the day at five-over par 77. Kochendoerfer's round left her in a tie for 87th place at 166 (89-77) after she registered a 12-shot improvement on her first-round total.

Junior Napaphan Phongpaiboon (T-79th/84-78=162) and sophomore Natcha Daengpiem (T-81st/85-78=163) both finished with rounds of six-over par 78 today.

The third and final round will be held tomorrow beginning with a 10:45 a.m. ET shotgun start.
