TOLEDO, OH — University of Toledo men's basketball coach
Tod Kowalczyk will join the tradition of signing a world famous Tony Packo's Hot Dog Bun on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 5:15 p.m.
The signing will take place at Tony Packo's at 1902 Front Street in Toledo with the bun then being enshrined on the walls of the restaurant. Superstar actor Burt Reynolds kicked off a decades-long tradition at Packo's when in 1972 he signed a hot dog bun for the restaurant to display on its walls. Since that time, hundreds of actors, sports figures, musicians, and politicians have followed Reynolds in autographing a bun for a legion of Packo's fans to look at while partaking of the world-famous Tony Packo's food.
Kowalczyk will be joined by a few members of his Rockets' squad for the signing. Rocket fans are encouraged to join the team at the Front Street location for the event.
Toledo opens its 2016-17 campaign at 2016 NCAA Tournament squad Saint Joseph's on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. The Rockets' home opener comes three days later against Youngstown State on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 8:00 p.m. in the second game of a doubleheader. UT's women will host Rhode Island that same evening at 5:30 p.m.
