TOLEDO, OH - Alex Fernandez has been named the Graduate Assistant Coach for the men's golf program, head coach
Jamie Broce announced on Tuesday.
"We are truly blessed to have Alex join the Rocket family," Broce said. "He has a passion for teaching and a thirst for knowledge. I have no doubt Alex will push myself and the players with new ideas. I look forward to working with him."
A native of Yukon, OK, Fernandez graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in professional golf management. He has worked in the golf business for the last five years, including the past two at the historic Inverness Club. Fernandez has also spent time at the Gongaware Junior Golf Academy and the Sea Island Golf Performance Center.
Fernandez currently holds professional certification as a PGA member, TPI Certified, TPI Level 2 Junior Golf Certified and U.S. Kids Certified Instructor.
"Alex did a remarkable job with the junior program at Inverness," Broce said. "He is also a PGA member and TPI certified (Titleist performance institute)."
Fernandez and the Rockets begin their fall season on Sunday-Monday, Sept. 4-5 at the Turning Stone - Tiger Intercollegiate in Verona, NY.
