TOLEDO, OH - University of Toledo Head Women's Golf Coach
Nicole Hollingsworth will serve as the featured speaker at the Dayton American Heart Association's Go Red Goes North luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 8 in Piqua, OH. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Fort Piqua Plaza Banquet Center on 308 North Main Street.
Â
Hollingsworth will speak about the day when she collapsed in the summer of 2015 and how losing 73 pounds before that fateful event helped save her life.
Â
"I'm very excited that the Dayton American Heart Association has reached out to me to be their guest speaker for the 2016 Go Red luncheon in Piqua, Ohio," said Hollingsworth, the two-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year. "Educating others about the importance of heart health has become a real passion of mine. I want to let people know what they can do to have a healthy lifestyle. Since I've started telling people my story, it has helped many people get motivated in their own lives. Losing weight and eating healthier is what probably saved my life, and I'm happy to share my story!"
Â
Beginning at 10:00 a.m., attendees can take part in a variety of activities such as health screenings as well as interact with healthcare professionals about such topics as diabetes, fitness and nutrition and stroke prevention at the Health and Wellness Expo. Participants can also take advantage of chair massages and other interactive experiences. The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. and feature a heart healthy lunch.
