Ruenreong Shoots Five-Over 76 in Opening Round of LPGA Marathon Classic

SYLVANIA, OH – Former Rocket Sathika Ruenreong carded an opening-round score of five-over par 76 at the LPGA Marathon Classic on Thursday at the par-71, 6,506-yard Highland Meadows Golf Club.
Ruenreong rebounded from shooting four-over par 41 in her first nine holes by posting a one-over par 35 the rest of the way. She is tied for 117th place in the 140-player field and will tee off from the No. 1 tee at 9:16 a.m. on Friday morning.
The Kanchanaburi, Thailand native bogeyed three of her first four holes after getting in trouble with her shots off the tee. She had a chance to get one stroke back on the par-four, 399-yard 15th hole but her birdie chip from the fringe hit the pin.
Another birdie attempt wouldn't fall either on the par-five, 513-yard No. 17 hole as her putt stayed on the lip of the cup.
Ruenreong notched her lone birdie of the day with a nine-foot putt on the par-four, 382-yard No. 4 hole.
