SAVAGE LIVE Announces The Art of Rap Festival

TOLEDO, OH – The SAVAGE LIVE concert series is back, as Sirius XM Backspin Presents The Art of Rap Festival on Thursday, Aug. 4 at Savage Arena. The impressive lineup of legendary rappers and hip-hop artists will include Ice T, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Naughty by Nature plus Grandmaster Melle Mel and Scorpio, EPMD, The Sugarhill Gang, Kurtis Blow and host Chief Rocket Busy Bee.
 
Fans will be treated to a night of hits from the eight-act lineup, including "Colors," "New Jack Hustler," "O.G. Original Gangster," "Foe tha Love of $," "The Crossroads," "1st of tha Month," "O.P.P.," "Hip Hop Hooray,"plus "Some Kind of Sorry," "Da Joint," "You Gots to Chill," "Rapper's Delight," "Apache (Jump On It),""The Breaks," and others as well as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's new single "Coming Home," which the group has dedicated to their hometown of Cleveland in celebration of the Cavs championship.
 
The Art of Rap is the second show for SAVAGE LIVE, a multi-event concert series which kicked off in March with the sold-out Rock the Arena. The series will continue with the sold-out I Love the 90's Festival on Aug. 20 headlined by Salt-N-Pepa and Vanilla Ice. All shows are open to the public with discount tickets available to current University of Toledo students.
 
"We're pleased by the response to our SAVAGE LIVE concert series," said UT associate athletic director Tony Zaworski said. "We appreciate that the community supports our venue and we believe our scalable size makes it a great choice for tour stops across multiple genres."
 
Doors open for The Art of Rap Festival at 5:00 p.m. and music will begin at 5:25 p.m. Tickets will be available to the public beginning on Monday, July 11 and can be purchased online at UTSavageLive.com or in person at the UT Athletic Ticket Office at Savage Arena.
