Rockets Wrap Up Regular Season at Toledo Invite

Toledo, OH – The Toledo track & field program wrapped up its final meet at the Toledo Invite on Friday, May 6. The meet served as a tune-up for the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships, which will also be held in Toledo.

"We had some solid performances today and we are getting ready for the MAC meet," head coach Linh Nguyen said. "Having a home meet is great. The student-athletes get to have parents and fans watch them in Toledo, and it was nice to have other schools come and support the meet."

Senior Kyesha Neal picked up a victory for the Rockets in the shot put with a 15.47m toss. Neal also finished second in the discus with a 49.21m mark, just missing her personal best by .34 meters. Freshman Sally Frank picked up a big PR in the shot put as well with a 13.14m, heading past her previous best of 12.56m.

Sophomore Krystiana Collins was the runner-up in the 200m with a personal best time of 25.29, running past her old time by .36 seconds. Senior Akili Barnes also earned a season best in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.55.

UT heads into postseason play at the MAC Outdoor Championships. The three-day event will begin on Thursday, May 12.
