TOLEDO, OH – Toledo defeated Northern Illinois, 6-1, on Friday afternoon at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club. The Rockets improve to 8-10 on the season and 2-3 in the conference.
"This was a dominant effort from top to bottom. We've got to use this momentum on Sunday against a tough Western Michigan team," said head coach

Toledo secured the doubles point by winning two of the three matches.
Emily Mazzola and
Sidnay Huck claimed a 6-2 victory at first doubles.
Lauren Thai and
Megan Miller posted a 6-3 win at No. 2.
Mazzola, Miller,
Colleen O'Brien and
Claire Aleck all recorded singles victories for Toledo.
Mazzola defeated Christina Alvarez in a tie-breaker at second singles, 5-7, 6-4, 10-8. Miller won a three-set battle against Evelyn Youel at the No. 4 spot, 0-6, 6-2, 6-3.
O'Brien and Aleck recorded two-set victories at No. 3 and 5 singles, respectively. O'Brien claimed a 6-2, 7-5 win over Michelle Erasmus, and Aleck bested Meghan Montgomerie, 6-4, 6-2.
The Rockets will return to the court on Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. match against WMU. It will be UT's last home match and will honor the Rockets three seniors,

Lauren Thai.
