Bowling Green, OH – Toledo dropped the second game of the doubleheader with Bowling Green, 7-3, on April 3 at Steller Field. With the loss, the Rockets fall to 5-23-1 overall and 2-4 in the Mid-American Conference.

Ross Adolph led the way offensively after going 2-for-4 with with one RBI and one run scored. Sophomore 1B
Dalton Bollinger also drove in one run and senior shortstop
Deion Tansel went 2-for-4 with a double and one run scored.

Senior RHP
Kyle Slack was tagged with the loss after throwing 3.1 innings and allowing five runs to cross the plate. Slack struck out four batters and allowed five hits. Junior RHP
Sam Shutes pitched in relief for the Rockets, throwing 4.2 frames. Shutes allowed two runs to score and struck out four batters.

Bowling Green busted open the game in the fourth. A Nick Glanzman single to center field that scored Greg Basalyga started the seven-run inning for BG. Derek Drewes doubled to extend the lead to two. A three-run home run and two-run home run from Tyler Greiner and Matt Smith capped the inning and gave BG a 7-0 advantage.

Toledo earned one back in the sixth with an Adolph single to score freshman 2B
Riley Campbell.
UT cut the lead in the top of the ninth when Bollinger hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield to bring home Adolph. Tansel, who advanced on the sac fly, scored on a pass ball to cut the BG advantage to 7-3.

Toledo will be back in action for a midweek non-conference contest at Youngstown State on April 6 at 5:30 p.m.
