TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo men's tennis team dropped its last match of the 2016 season to Western Michigan, 6-1. The Rockets complete their season with a 7-17 overall record and a 0-7 mark in the Mid-American Conference.
"There wasn't much on the line anymore for either team so the enthusiasm for the match was not what we normally get," said head coach
Al Wermer. "But I'm real proud of
Stjepan Sisko for rebounding from that tough loss yesterday. He's a beast and he keeps getting better."
WMU gained the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Sophomore
Omar Espinosa and freshman
Danilo Pejovic were up 5-4 at second doubles before their match was called.
Junior
Stjepan Sisko recorded the only Toledo victory on the day. Sisko defeated Maik Steiner in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6 (2).
