UT's showings in the event have included three second-place (2006, 2013, 2014), seven third-place (1999, 2002, 2003, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015), four fourth-place (2000, 2001, 2004, 2007), two fifth-place (2005, 2009) and one sixth-place (2011) finish.

Toledo has set a school record with five tournament titles this season with three coming in the fall and two more this spring. One of UT's victories was a 10-stroke triumph at the MAC Fall Preview in Noblesville on Oct. 11-12, with Kent State the lone conference member not competing in the event. Senior
Morgan Salm, who has been sidelined since March due to a wrist injury, led the Rockets at six-over par 222 (76-74-72) to finish in second place. Salm was joined in the Top 10 by classmates
Sathika Ruenreong (8th/74-75-76=225) and
Manisa Isavas (T-9th/76-77-73=226).
Â
Ruenreong, a three-time first-team All-MAC selection, finished as the runner-up at the MAC Championship as a freshman, tied for sixth as a sophomore and was seventh as a junior. She is pacing the Rockets with a school-record 73.5 stroke average. Isavas ranks second on the team with a career-best 74.9 mark and has earned second-team All-MAC accolades the last two seasons. Salm possesses a 75.4 stroke average and is followed by the freshmen trio of
Natcha Daengpiem (76.5),
Pimchanok Kawil (76.7) and
Caitriona Griffin (77.8).
Â
Kent State is the only school to win the MAC Championship in its 17-year history and is the favorite to win the tournament again this year. The Golden Flashes are ranked No. 13 in Golfstat's national rankings followed by Toledo (81), Eastern Michigan (122), Western Michigan (146), Northern Illinois (148), Akron (151), Bowling Green (165), Ball State (169), Ohio (171) and Central Michigan (238).
