Toledo, OH - Senior center Nathan Boothe (Gurnee, IL) and junior guard Jonathan Williams (Southfield, MI) were each recognized on Monday by the Mid-American Conference as the all-league squads were announced. Boothe was awarded a spot on the first team, while Williams was a third-team selection. The All-MAC teams were determined from voting by the league's 12 head coaches
An honorable-mention All-MAC honoree as a junior, Boothe leads the MAC in scoring with 19.4 ppg and is third with 9.0 rpg and an 83.5 FT%. He also is fourth in double-doubles (13) and 11th with 3.5 apg. Boothe has scored 602 points this season, sixth most in school history with Greg Stempin (604/5th), Keith Triplett (607/4th) and Tom Kozelko (608/3rd) just ahead of him. Boothe is also the Rockets' all-time blocked shots leader with 152 rejections, 14 in front of former recordholder J.C. Harris (1989-92). Boothe has led or shared the team lead in scoring on a team-high 18 occasions, rebounding a team-best 24 times, and assists on 11 occasions.
Williams, who earned a spot on the MAC's All-Freshman Team in 2013-14, ranks third in the league with 17.8 ppg after averaging 10.2 ppg last year in his first season as a Rocket starter. Williams has scored 14 or more points in all but two of UT's 31 games this season, including 13 20-point outings following his 21-point showing at Western Michigan (March 1). Williams has registered a career-high five three-point field goals on two occasions this season, at Miami (Jan. 9) and vs. Eastern Michigan (March 4). He leads Toledo this season in treys (67) and three-point attempts (178) and ranks second in free throws made (80) and free-throw attempts (113).
