Sathika Ruenreong Named MAC Women's Golfer of Week for 10th Time in Career

TOLEDO, OH - Senior Sathika Ruenreong (Kanchanaburi, Thailand) was named the Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week on Thursday after helping the Rockets to a school-record fifth tournament title of the season earlier this week. Ruenreong is receiving the honor for the fourth time this season and on the 10th occasion in her collegiate career.

     A three-time first-team All-MAC honoree, Ruenreong was part of a UT performance that resulted in an eight-stroke victory at the 19-team Kingsmill Intercollegiate. Toledo posted a 44-over par 908 and posted its best round of the tournament with an eight-over par 296 in the second round.

Ruenreong led the Rockets by earning medalist honors for the fourth time in her collegiate career. She edged William & Mary's Alessandra Liu (72-71-75=218) by finishing one stroke in front at one-over par 217 (71-73-73). Ruenreong led the field in par-four scoring with a 4.07 average (+2) and in par-five scoring with a 4.67 average (-4). She also tied for the tournament lead with nine birdies.

Ruenreong and the Rockets will return to the links at Jacksonville's web.com Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, April 4-5 in Ponte Vedra, FL.
