Cleveland, OH – Toledo swimming and diving had 14 student-athletes earn a spot on the 2016 Academic All-MAC squad, he league announced on Tuesday. Jessica Avery, Allie Brinkhoff, Lauren Comer, Allison Dicke, Alex Durkin, Brooke Edwards, Danielle Forbes, Emily Frederick, Maggie Hack, Rachael Hester, Bailey Marshal, Samantha Richart, Jamie Schindler and Katrin Streicher were selected due to their outstanding efforts in the classroom, as well as in the pool.
 
This is the second-straight season Comer, Marshal, Richart and Schindler have been honored with this award.
 
Ball State leads the conference with 17 student-athletes receiving academic honors. Akron, Bowling Green, and Miami each placed 15 on the team.
 
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
