Nathan Boothe has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. The honor marks the sixth time Boothe has received the award and the seventh time a Rocket has been named this season.

           Boothe helped the Rockets to victories over Western Michigan and Kent State last week with a team-high 21.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. He also dished out 4.0 assists per game and shot 52.0 percent (13-of-25) from the field, 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from three-point range and 92.3 (12-of-13) percent from the free-throw line.

A Gurnee, IL native, Boothe tallied 16 points, 10 boards, four assists and two blocked shots while playing just 25 minutes in UT's 89-62 home win over Western Michigan. He then notched his fifth straight double-double with 26 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes in the Rockets' 82-67 triumph at Kent State. Boothe played a part in UT's season-high 58.7 field-goal percentage, including a red-hot 63.2 percent (12-of-19) from three-point range.

Boothe leads the MAC in scoring this season with 19.5 ppg and is second in double-doubles (11), third in rebounding (9.3 rpg), eighth with 3.7 apg and ninth with a 1.7 ASST/TO ratio (84 asst/51 TOs).

Boothe and the Rockets will play at Buffalo on Tuesday, Feb. 9 before returning home on Saturday, Feb. 13 to host Miami.
