TOLEDO, OH – The University of Toledo women's soccer team recieved commitments from seven student-athletes for the 2016 season, head coach
TJ Buchholz announced on Wednesday, Feb. 3.
The signees are Sheridan Bufe (Lake Forest, IL), Abby Demboski (Dublin, OH), Leandra Garlinger (Riverside, CA), Jordyn Greer (Toledo,OH), Madison Perrin (Pleasant Lake, MI), Jamie Peters (Alhambra, CA) and Alex Troy (Pontiac, MI).
Two recruits transfer to UT from junior colleges. Leandra Garlinger played at San Bernardino Valley Community College and Jamie Peters played at Cerritos College.

This past fall, the midnight Blue & Gold posted a 9-12-0 overall record and 5-6-0 league record. UT reached the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament.
Sheridan Bufe:- Attended Lake Forest High School in Lake Forest, IL

Buchholz on Bufe: "Sheridan is a player with great potential. She is a very versatile player that we envision using in multiple positions. Her height, her skill in the air and her ability to read the game will benefit her well in our program."
Why Bufe Chose Toledo: "The campus is pretty and I felt it was the right fit for me athletically and academically."
Abby Demboski- Attended Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus, OH
- Four-time letterwinner in soccer
- Four-time all-league
- Two-time all-district
- National Honor Society member
Buchholz on Demboski: "Abby comes from a strong club background that has prepared her well for the college level. As a midfielder, her composure and her quick movement of the ball our key attributes for her success in our program. She will be a welcome addition to our midfield in the fall."
Leandra Garlinger- Attended John W. North High School
- Attended San Bernardino Valley Community College for one year
- Four-year letterwinner in high school
- JUCO All-America honoree
- Conference player the year
- Scored 22 goals with nine assists and three game-winning goals
Buchholz on Garlinger: "Leandra had a fantastic sophomore season at San Bernardino Valley College and we are optimistic that she will bring a scoring presence to our offense this fall. Leandra is athletic, she is technical, and she has a strong soccer IQ."
Why Garlinger chose Toledo: "UT had a friendly coaching staff and it is a great school."
Jordyn Greer- Attended St. Ursula Academy
- Conference co-player of the year
- NSCAA Division I All-America and all-state honoree
- Three-time conference first team
- Scored 24 goals with eight assists as a senior.
- Led district in both boys and girls soccer in points
- Netted 13 goals on eight assists as a junior
Buchholz on Greer: "We're excited to have a local standout join our soccer program. Jordyn is going to bring a strong offensive presence to our team and will provide an impact at the college level. Her work rate and determination will translate well to our team."
Why Greer Chose Toledo: "UT has the college program I'm interested in. I have attended soccer camps at UT for many years and have enjoyed them greatly. All of the soccer student-athletes I've met are very genuine and were great influences on me."
Madison Perrin- Three-year letterwinner in soccer
- Played for U17 boys Michigan Chill Club team

Buchholz on Perrin: "Madison is our lone goalkeeper we are bringing in for the 2016 recruiting class. She is a top level goalkeeper that we expect to come in and compete with our returning goalkeepers. Her strongest attributes are her dedication, athleticism, and her shot-stopping ability."
Why Perrin Chose Toledo: "I chose UT because I felt it was the best place for me to grow and learn as an athlete, student and person. I wanted to be a part of an institution that would challenge me but also support me and Toledo is that place. I can't imagine being anything other than a Rocket."
Jamie Peters- Attended Bishop Amat Memorial High School
- Four-time letterwinner in soccer
- Two-time all-league first team
- High school hall of fame inductee
- Scored 25 goals with 27 assists her senior year
- Scored 10 goals with 13 assists in junior college
- National Honor Society member
Buchholz on Peters: "Jamie brings a winning mentality to our program. She has won championships at the high school and junior college levels. Jamie is a forward with excellent speed and finishing ability that makes her a constant threat in the attack."
Why Peters Chose Toledo: "I took my visit and fell in love with the school, the people and the program."
Alex Troy: - Attended Our Lady of the Lakes High School
- Four-year letterwinner in soccer.
- Two-time all-state
- Scored eight goals in eight games as a junior.
- Sister played four years at Detroit
Buchholz on Troy: "Alex is a dynamic midfielder that plays with a high-level of passion. She excels with her speed and her creativity on the ball. We are looking forward to adding her to our midfield group."
Why Troy Chose Toledo: "I enjoyed how beautiful the campus is and the classes I could choose from. There's plenty to do around campus, I like the soccer coaches and the team. I believe it will be a great fit for me for the next four years."
