Montgomery, AL – Day Three at the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl in Montgomery had a little bit of everything for the Toledo Rockets.
The Rockets got a taste of Montgomery's role in recent history when they visited the Rosa Parks Museum Thursday morning. The museum focuses on Parks' role in the civil rights movement in Montgomery in the 1950's.
"I've read a lot about Rosa Parks but to get this perspective and some of specific details about what she did was huge," said senior safety
Connery Swift. "The biggest thing I learned was how big her impact was. Going through this museum and being in Montgomery, Alabama you realize the impact she had not just on this city and the state but the entire world."
Added senior defensive tackle
Treyvon Hester, "It was good to come here and reflect on what happened, everything her and her ancestors went through. It was a humbling experience."
Following a brief practice in the afternoon, the players and coaches enjoyed a team dinner at Alley Station, followed by a private performance for both Toledo and Appalachian State players from comedian Ronnie Jordan.
Friday's events will include the Alabama Football Legends Luncheon, the official bowl news conference, a UT pep rally and the Montgomery Christmas Parade. The Rockets will have their final bowl practice Friday morning in preparation for the showdown with Appalachian State Saturday (5:30 p.m. ET/ESPN).
