Montgomery, AL - The Rockets have landed!
The University of Toledo football team took their charter flight from Toledo to Montgomery, AL today, the first day in a five-day trip of fun and football at the 2016 Raycom Media Camellia Bowl. Toledo (9-3) faces Appalachian State (9-3) on Saturday (5:30 p.m. ET/ESPN)
The team practiced Tuesday morning in Toledo before departing. The Rockets spent their first evening in Montgomery relaxing at their hotel. Wednesday will begin a schedule that includes three practices at nearby Huntingdon College, as well as sightseeing trips around the city and other team activities. On Wednesday, the Rockets will tour the local Hyundai plant and enjoy a barbecue at the Union Station Train Shed. On Thursday, the players will visit the Rosa Parks Museum in the morning and enjoy a visit to a comedy club that evening. Friday will feature the Alabama Football Legends Luncheon, where the Rockets will get their first up-close look at their opponents from Appalachian State.
The University of Toledo Marching Band and cheerleaders will join the team on Friday evening for a pep rally. The band and cheerleaders will also be at a pre-game party hosted by the UT Alumni Association at Patterson Field, located next to the Cramton Bowl.
