TOLEDO, OH - Senior forward
Steve Taylor Jr. has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
 A Chicago, IL native, Taylor posted a pair of double-doubles and averaged 18.0 points and 16.5 rebounds per game to help Toledo to a pair of victories last week. Taylor also led the Rockets with 4.5 assists per game and shot an efficient 57.7 percent (15-of-26) from the field. He also was 1-of-2 (50.0 percent) from three-point range.
Taylor opened the week on Tuesday with a career-best 22-point, 23-rebound outing in UT's 103-98 (OT) victory over Youngstown State. Taylor's 23 boards are the most in Savage Arena history and are tied for seventh most in school history.
On Saturday, Taylor tallied 14 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high five assists in Toledo's 82-78 win at Wright State.
Taylor and the Rockets will play at Middle Tennessee on Tuesday, Nov. 22 before competing in the Challenge in Music City in Nashville, TN this weekend.
