Rockets Finish Fall Strong at Idle Hour Collegiate Championship

MACON, GA – Toledo posted its best round of the tournament with a nine-over par 297 on Tuesday, but it wasn't quite enough to capture the tournament title at Mercer's Idle Hour Collegiate Championship. The Rockets (303-299-297) tied for second place and finished just two strokes behind the host Bears (300-297-300) at the par-72, 6,136-yard Idle Hour Country Club.

Sophomore Pinyada Kuvanun led UT by tying for second place at even-par 216 (71-74-71), marking her fourth Top 10 showing this fall. Western Kentucky's Mary Joiner captured the tournament title at three-under par 213 after firing a six-under par 66 today.

Sophomore Pimchanok Kawil tied for 15th place at 10-over par 226 (73-76-77) and was followed by freshman Saranlak Tumfong (T-25th/79-76-74=229), sophomore Natcha Daengpiem (T-28th/81-73-76=230) and junior Napaphan Phongpaiboon (T-34th/80-77-76=233). Sophomore Hannah Kochendoerfer competed as an individual and tied for 56th place at 27-over par 243 (82-80-81).

Toledo posted three second-place and one third-place finishes in five tournaments this fall and is now idle until Feb. 10-11 when it travels to Port St. Lucie, FL for the Ball State Sunshine Invitational.
