BRIDGEPORT, WV - Toledo will compete in the second-annual Mountaineer Intercollegiate on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 10-11 at the Pete Dye Golf Club. The Rockets will take part in their fifth fall tournament on the par-72, 7,353-yard course.

The two-day tourney will follow the traditional 54-hole format. Golfers will tee off at 8:30 a.m. in a shotgun start on Monday, playing 36 continuous holes. Tuesday's final round is also scheduled for 8:30 a.m. with split tee times on holes No. 1 & No. 10.
A total of 14 teams will compete in the event. Five programs rank in the Top 75 of GolfWeek's most recent rankings (October 2), headlined by Arkansas (No. 43), James Madison (No. 51), East Carolina (No. 67), Seton Hall (No. 70) and Mississippi State (No. 72). Also participating in the tournament with Toledo (No. 108) are Akron (No. 184), Arkansas State (No. 97), Bowling Green (No. 86), Cincinnati (No. 96), Marshall (No. 130), Memphis (No. 146), Miami (No. 183) and host West Virginia (No. 119).

UT is coming off a fourth-place showing at the Macdonald Cup last weekend. UT posted a team score of 11-over par 851 (284-280-287) to place fourth among 15 teams at the Yale University Golf Course.
Individually, Watts keyed the Rockets' showing by registering his second Top Five finish on the season and third as a collegiate. Watts (66-67-71) carded a collegiate-best six-under par 204 to tally a third-place finish in the individual standings, including a career-low four-under par 66 in Saturday's first round.
Joseph (74-66-73) also had a good performance at the 41st-annual event and tied for 10th place with a collegiate-best mark of three-over par 213. Joseph fired a career-low four-under par 66 during the second round to post his second Top 10 effort as a Rocket. Â Â
Watts leads the team with a 71.8 stroke average in 11 rounds this fall, while Thurloway is a close second with a 71.9 stroke average.
A year ago, Toledo finished in 11th place at the weather-shortened Mountaineer Intercollegiate. The tournament was originally scheduled for 54 holes but only 36 could be played due to a frost delay. The Rockets posted a two-round score of 32-over par 608 (301-307).
Nationally ranked Penn State won the team championship by finishing the inaugural tourney at 585, 10 strokes ahead of runner-up Connecticut (295-300=595). Individually, Cincinnati's Davis Baxter earned medalist honors, shooting five-under par 139 (70-69).
Mike Lee (78-73) and
Otto Black (70-81) tied for 23rd place at seven-over par 151 to lead the Midnight Blue & Gold.
The Pete Dye Golf Club is ranked No. 46 on Golf Digest's ranking of America's 100 Greatest Courses and comes in at No. 9 on Golfweek's ranking of Best Modern Courses. Mining remnants and rambunctious terrain combine across 250 acres in the Appalachian Mountains. Pete Dye previously played host to a PGA TOUR/web.com event (2004-09).
Live scoring for next week's event will be available at golfstat.com. Scores will be updated after every three holes.
Following next week's tourney, UT will wrap up its fall schedule by competing in the Poppy Hills Invite on Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 24-26 in Pebble Beach, CA.Â
