TOLEDO, OH — Toledo travels to the Sunshine State this weekend to compete in the first of its final two fall tournaments. The Rockets will be looking to defend their title at the 39th-annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational on Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 23-25 in Lakewood Ranch, FL. The tournament is being held at the Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club's par-72, 6,288-yard Cypress Lakes Course.
       The scoring format will consist of each team fielding five players, with the lowest four scores counting for each round. Eighteen holes will be played on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Live scoring can be found at birdiefire.com.
    In last year's event at Lakewood Ranch, Toledo won a third-straight tournament for the first time in school history with a 15-over par 879 (296-292-291) to finish five shots in front of Memphis (292-297-295=884). Former Rocket Sathika Ruenreong led the way with a one-over par 217 (74-70-73) to finish in third place. Sophomore Pimchanok Kawil tied for 13th place at eight-over par 224 (78-76-70) and is the only current Rocket that played in the event.
    Toledo has notched a pair of Top Three showings in its first three tournaments this fall with a runner-up finish at Ball State's Cardinal Classic (Sept. 19-20) and a third-place standing at the Rocket Classic (Oct. 10-11). Â
    Kawil leads the Rockets with a 73.8 stroke average with sophomore Pinyada Kuvanun (74.8) just a stroke behind. Junior Napaphan Phongpaiboon (77.0), sophomore Hannah Kochendoerfer (78.3) and sophomore Natcha Daengpiem (78.8) have also competed in all three tournaments for UT this fall.
    The Rockets are ranked No. 137 in Golfstat's computer rankings and will be competing against a 14-team field that includes Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, FGCU, FIU, Georgia State, Jacksonville, UMKC, Marshall, Memphis, Morehead State, Southern Mississippi, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Western Kentucky.
