TOLEDO, OH - Senior center Nathan Boothe has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. The honor marks the fifth time Boothe has received the award and the sixth time a Rocket has been named this season.
 
     Boothe tallied a team-high 27.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game and was extremely efficient shooting the ball in two contests last week. In addition to his point and rebound totals, Boothe registered a 57.6 field-goal percentage (19-of-33), a 44.4 three-point FG% (4-of-9) and an 81.3 free-throw percentage (13-of-16).
 
     Boothe opened the week by scoring a career-high 30 points and grabbing nine boards in a 71-66 setback to Northern Illinois. He hit 10-of-16 shots from the field and 8-of-9 from the charity stripe. The Rockets' post play followed that up with 25 points and nine rebounds in a 78-64 victory over Akron.
 
     Boothe leads the MAC with 19.6 ppg and ranks second with 8.8 rpg and sixth with a 2.0 assist/turnover ratio and team-best 3.9 apg, eighth with a 53.8 FG%, 10th with a 77.6 FT% and 12th with a 41.9 3PTFG%.
    
     Boothe and the Rockets (11-6, 2-2 MAC) play a pair of road games this week beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 19 with a trip down I-75 to face MAC East Division co-leader Bowling Green (12-5, 3-1 MAC). UT will then travel to DeKalb, IL to battle MAC West Division co-leader Northern Illinois (14-3, 3-1 MAC) on, Friday, Jan. 22 in a contest that will be televised nationally by the CBS Sports Network.
