TOLEDO - The Toledo Rockets will travel to No. 18 Arkansas on Saturday, Sept. 12 for what effectively is their second season opener of 2015. Toledo played half a game against Stony Brook at home on Sept. 3 before the game was called off due to severe weather.
      Toledo led at the half vs. Stony Brook, 16-7, when the contest was officially halted at 12:13 a.m. following three weather delays totally more than three and a half hours. The game was declared "no contest" and no statistics will be counted. There is no makeup contest scheduled.
      The Rockets will have their hands full with the Razorbacks, a rising power in the SEC. Arkansas, 7-6 in 2014, defeated UTEP in its opener on Sept. 5, 48-13. The Razorbacks outgained the Miners, 490-204, and held a 41-10 lead midway through the third quarter. Senior quarterback Brandon Allen competed 14-of-18 passes for 308 yards and four touchdowns. Arkansas' defense held UTEP to just 58 yards rushing on 34 attempts. Arkansas is ranked No. 18 in the Associated Press media poll and No. 20 in the coaches poll.
       The Rockets, picked to win the Mid-American Conference, started out slowly vs. Stony Brook but were building momentum when the game was called off. Trailing 7-0, Toledo scored 16 consecutive points behind the running of junior
Damion Jones-Moore, who scored on runs of 37 and seven yards. Jones-Moore gained 70 yards on just five carries. Senior
Phillip Ely got the starting nod at quarterback, completing 8-of-16 passes for 81 yards. Senior cornerback
Chaz Whittaker had two interceptions to lead the defense.
Game Notes• This will be the first meeting between Toledo and Arkansas. Toledo is 0-3 vs. SEC schools, with two losses to Missouri and one at Florida, with all three games being played in the past two seasons.
• Arkansas was 7-6 in 2014, defeating Texas in the Advocare Texas Bowl, 31-7. The Razorbacks are led by former Wisconsin head coach Brett Bielema, now in his third season at Arkansas.
• Toledo's new school president, Dr. Sharon Gaber, was most recently the provost and vice Chancellor for academic affairs at Arkansas. Gaber, who began her post at UT on July 1, will be attending the game. Her eldest daughter is a senior at Arkansas.
 • Arkansas is ranked No. 18 in the Associated Press media poll and No. 20 in the coaches poll. Toledo is 7-14 all-time vs. Top 25 teams. The last Rocket win vs. a Top 25 team was a 29-23 victory over No. 18 Cincinnati in 2012.
• Toledo was picked to win the MAC's West Division, receiving 11 first-place votes and a total of 121 points in the annual media poll. The Rockets, who were also the media's choice to win the MAC Championship Game, were picked second in the West Division in the coaches' poll.
• The Rockets return 47 letterwinners and 15 starters from last year, as well as six All-MAC players.

Cheatham Norrils is back in the starting lineup after missing the entire 2014 season due to illness. He was credited with one pass breakup vs. Stony Brook.
