TOLEDO, OH — Junior guard Jonathan Williams has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. The honor marks the first time in Williams' collegiate career he has received the award and the fourth time a Rocket has been named this season.

     Williams scored 25 points, one shy of his career high, to lead Toledo to a 95-62 victory over North Carolina A&T last Monday. Williams shot a season-best 72.7 percent from the field on 8-of-11 shooting in the Rockets' lone contest of the week. He also knocked down a season-best 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from three-point range. Williams sparked the Rockets in the first half by burying his first three treys of the game en route to a 45-34 halftime advantage.

     A Southfield, MI native, Williams tops the Mid-American Conference and ranks 29th nationally with 20.1 ppg. He is also shooting a career-best 50.0 percent (92-of-184) from the field and is averaging 2.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 0.8 steals per game.

     Williams and the Rockets (8-4) host Northern Kentucky (4-6) on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 7:00 p.m. before opening their conference campaign on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Ball State.
