LOUDON, Tenn. – Junior Solomon Petrie registered his best round of the tournament on Sunday to lead the Toledo men's golf team in the final round of Tennessee's Visit Knoxville Collegiate. Petrie shot an even-par 70 today to finish at three-over par 213 (72-71-70) on the par-70, 7,201-yard Tennessee National Golf Club in his first tournament as a Rocket.

Petrie tied for 32nd place in the individual standings and tied for sixth in the field in par-five scoring at four-under par. He ranked second on the team with 10 birdies in the event, one fewer than junior Mason Deal.

Senior Mads Jensen shot a one-over par 71 for Toledo's second-best round of the day. He tied for 60th place at 10-over par 220.

Toledo finished in 14th place in the team standings against a field that included No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 7 LSU, No. 14 Tennessee, and No. 17 Georgia Tech. The Volunteers captured the tournament title with an impressive 16-under par 824.

"We came to this tournament to push ourselves, see where we stand and determine what we need to work on," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "There's no doubt that we now have a pretty good idea of what need to do to be a consistent team that shoots good numbers at an event like this. We now have a good measuring stick and a lot of benchmarks to start working towards to play at the consistently high level that we want to."

Toledo returns to action next weekend when it travels to Rochester, Mich. for Oakland's Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 13-14.
