Senior shot a five-under par 208 and registered a team-best 11 birdies at Mason Rudolph Championship
TOLEDO, Ohio – Senior CJ van Wyk was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week on Thursday. Van Wyk is receiving the honor for the first time in his Rocket career.
A George, South Africa native, van Wyk shot a five-under par 208 and finished in 17th place to lead Toledo at Vanderbilt's Mason Rudolph Championship. The Rockets tied for ninth place in the team standings in a field that included six of the nation's Top 50 teams.
Van Wyk tied for first place in par-three scoring at two-under par, registered a team-best 11 birdies and shot under par in each of his three rounds.
Van Wyk and the Rockets will be back in action next week at Virginia's Lewis Chitengwa Memorial in Charlottesville, Va. The two-day tournament will be held on Monday-Tuesday, April 14-15.
