Rockets to play 18 holes each day beginning Sunday
TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team will open its spring season out west at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz. The Rockets will play 18 holes each day at the par-72, 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Club on Sunday-Tuesday, Feb. 16-18.
The Field
Toledo will be competing against a 20-team field that includes Boise State, Bucknell, Fairfield, George Washington, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Howard, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Missouri State, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Omaha, Richmond, Siena, SIU Edwardsville, South Dakota, Tenn.-Martin, and the host Greyhounds.
Tournament Lineup
Toledo's lineup will consist of junior Mads Jensen at the No. 1 position followed by senior CJ van Wyk at No. 2, freshman Bence Bertenyi at No. 3, freshman Julius Lange at No. 4, and senior Jamie Butler at No. 5. Sophomore Mason Deal and Marijn Hoogeveen are competing as individuals.
Last Time Out
Junior Mads Jensen and freshman Bence Bertenyi each tied for 15th place to lead Toledo at the Florida Atlantic Invitational last October. Bertenyi and Jensen each carded a six-over par 219 for the Rockets.
