Izzy Granger Named MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo women's volleyball outside hitter Izzy Granger has been named the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday. This marks Granger's first-ever Scholar Athlete of the Week award.

The junior carries a 3.981 GPA as an early childhood education major. Granger earned CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-MAC honors during the 2023 season.

Granger earned MVP honors at the Rocket Invitational last week, totaling 41 kills and 35 digs throughout the tournament. The junior outside hitter added five service aces and recorded two consecutive double-doubles against Northern Kentucky and Marshall. Granger set a career-high .542 hitting percentage against Marshall with 14 kills.

The Findlay, Ohio native ranks second on the team in kills per set (2.67) and digs per set (2.33).

The MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. Each week schools are asked to nominate one female and one male among the sports that are in season at the time. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
