Toledo to Take On Challenging Schedule in 2024-25 Season

Rockets to host Inverness Intercollegiate on Sept. 9-10

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo men's golf team will play a challenging schedule once again in its 2024-25 campaign, Head Coach Jeff Roope announced on Friday. The Rockets will be competing against some of the nation's top programs throughout its season highlighted by hosting one of the best fields in the nation at the Inverness Intercollegiate in September.

"Our schedule is a good mix of events hosted by Power Four and mid-major programs all across the country," Roope said. "We're going to be playing at some different venues this season, and this was the perfect time for us to do that with all the new faces we will have in our lineup. We've lost four guys who have played an awful lot of golf for us the last four years, and our new group will have the opportunity to set the bar for our next generation of Rockets. This schedule will allow them to grow and develop our culture to another level and that's exciting for everyone involved within our program."

Toledo will compete in six tournaments in the fall beginning with a trip to Verona, N.Y. for Boston College's Red Bandanna Invitational on Sept. 1-2.

The Rockets will then return home to host some of the nation's top golfers and teams at the Inverness Club on Sept. 9-10. Thirteen of the 14 programs competing in the tournament were represented in NCAA postseason play last year as a team or individually, highlighted by defending national champion Auburn. The tournament field also includes Cal Poly, Clemson, College of Charleston, Louisville, Michigan, Oklahoma, Purdue, SMU, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.

The remainder of the Rockets' fall campaign will include visits to the states of Florida, Indiana, and Kentucky.

UT will participate in the Purdue Fall Classic (Sept. 21-22), Kentucky's Cullan Brown Invitational (Oct. 7-8), the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational in Vero Beach, Fla. (Oct. 13-14) and the FAU Golf Invitational (Oct. 28-29). UT is competing in the Quail Valley event for a fourth straight year and set a 54-hole school record last year with a 37-under par 827.

Toledo's spring season includes one tournament each in February and March followed by three in April leading up to the Mid-American Conference Championships on April 27-29 in Grove City, Ohio.

The Rockets will open their spring at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz. on Feb. 16-18. UT will then conclude its spring break at the Ross Collegiate Classic in Southern Pines, N.C. on March 10-11.

Toledo will receive its final preparation for the MAC Championships at Vanderbilt's Mason Rudolph Championship (April 4-6), Virginia's Lewis Chitengwa Memorial (April 12-13) and Purdue's Boilermaker Invitational (April 19-20).
