TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo Women's Tennis Head Coach Tracy Mauntler has added another plaque to her wall of achievements for 2024. Mauntler was named the Midwest Region's Wilson/ITA Coach of the Year this week, becoming the first coach from a Mid-American Conference school to earn this regional recognition, as well as the first coach from a mid-major school to earn this award since DePaul's Mark Ardizzone was tabbed for the honor in 2014.

Mauntler was named Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year in 2024, the second year in a row she was so honored. Her squad had a historical 2023-24 season, winning the 2024 MAC Championship Tournament title and a berth into the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship for the first time in school history. Additionally, the Rockets claimed their second straight regular season MAC Championship title, and won the 2024 ITA Community Service Award.

Mauntler reached a milestone of 250 career wins with the Rockets in a 6-1 win over Youngstown State on Feb. 25, and cliched the conference championship with her 262nd career win. Under her direction, the Midnight Blue & Gold won a record 18 consecutive conference matches from April 2022 to April 2024, and have won 17 straight home matches since January of 2023. In addition, Cassie Alcala was named MAC Player of the Year for three years running after earning MAC Freshman of the Year honors in 2021.
