Toledo begins season at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Ind., on Thursday, Aug. 15
TOLEDO, Ohio – Second-year head coach Mark Batman announced the 2024 Toledo women's soccer schedule on Tuesday, a slate that features nine home games at Paul Hotmer Field and nine on the road.
Batman is ready to see how his veteran players can gel with the talented group of newcomers this upcoming season.
"We are very excited about this coming fall," Batman said. "The returning girls are hungry for more and the incoming girls will provide depth in every position. We have a strong group of upperclassmen, and balancing that with a very talented incoming class will be fun to watch. We have some lofty goals for the group, but they're attainable. We are in a great position going into the fall and excited to see how the group adapts to any unforeseen challenges we'll face."
Toledo will begin its season at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Ind., on Thursday, Aug. 15, before hosting Cincinnati in the home opener at Paul Hotmer Field on Sunday, Aug. 18. There are eight more home games following the home opener, including the Mid-American Conference home opener vs. Kent State on Sunday, Sept. 22.
The Rockets will play Northwestern (Aug. 25), Loyola Chicago (Sept.5), and Oakland (Sept.8) on the road, and close out non-conference play at home vs. Ohio Dominican on Sunday, Sept. 15. MAC competition will begin with the annual Battle of I-75 against Bowling Green on Thursday, Sept. 19 at Cochrane Stadium in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The remainder of UT's home slate includes Eastern Michigan (Sept. 26), Central Michigan (Oct. 10), Miami (Oct. 17), Western Michigan (Oct. 27), and the regular season finale with Ball State on Halloween night. Toledo will visit Akron (Sept. 29), Buffalo (Oct. 6), 2023 MAC Champion Ohio (Oct. 13), and Northern Illinois (Oct. 24).
The top six teams in the conference standings will compete for the MAC Tournament title, which will begin at campus sites starting with the quarterfinals on Sunday, Nov. 3. The semifinals will take place on Thursday, Nov. 7, and the final match is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 10.
Toledo will play two exhibition games to prepare for the season's competition, at home vs. Wright State on Saturday, Aug. 3 and at 2023 NCAA Tournament participant Xavier on Wednesday, Aug. 7 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Rockets look to their 10 seniors to lead them on the field this season, including Emily Mann, Grace Turski, Miranda Sullivan, Alexys LaDue, Olivia Dault, Jenna Foley, Chloe Tadolini, and McKenna Schultz, with the addition of transfers Dalaney Ranallo (Kent State) and Tori Lyncha (Xavier).
