Anulare led Toledo in minutes played and scored two goals this season
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Toledo women's soccer midfielder Gabrielle Anulare has been named to the Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer All-Freshman Team, the league announced in its postseason awards on Tuesday.
Anulare was a mainstay in the Rockets' midfield in her first collegiate campaign. She started every match and led the Rockets in minutes with 1,547, averaging 85.9 per match. She also played in all 990 minutes across Toledo's 11 conference matches.
The New Baltimore, Mich. native's role in the midfield and in the possession game helped Toledo's defense allow just 16 goals (0.89/match) as a unit, which ranked fifth in the league. Toledo had eight shutouts as a team and the 16 goals tied the 2021 program record for fewest allowed in a season.
Anulare scored two goals this season, both coming off corner kicks in her home debut against Cincinnati on Aug. 18.
