TOLEDO, Ohio – Senior
Palmer Yenrick will begin play in the 2023 United States Amateur next week. Yenrick will tee off on Monday, August 14 at 4:09 p.m. ET at the Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colo. He will then begin his second round on Tuesday, Aug. 15 with a tee time of 10:39 a.m. ET at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills, Colo.
Yenrick is one of 312 golfers playing 36 holes on Monday and Tuesday looking to earn a spot in match play for the Round of 64 on Wednesday, August 16. The championship match will be held on Sunday, August 19.
An Oregon, Ohio native, Yenrick is competing in the U.S. Amateur for a second-straight year and will mark the fifth time in the last six years that a Rockets have had a representative in the tournament.
Yenrick qualified for the U.S. Amateur on July 17 by firing a four-under par 138 at The Meadows at GVSU in Allendale, Mich. He graduated with his finance degree last spring and will return for a fifth season with the Rockets in the 2023-24 season.
Yenrick ranked second on the team last year with a career-best 73.3 stroke average. Yenrick helped the Rockets finish third at the Mid-American Conference Championships by tying for eighth place with a one-over par 217 (74-70-73). He also tied for eighth place at Auburn's Tiger Invitational with a career-low six-under par 210 (69-71-70).
