TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team will play its second straight tournament in the Tar Heel State when it travels to Raleigh, N.C. this weekend to compete in North Carolina State's Stitch Intercollegiate on Friday-Saturday, April 7-8. The tournament will be held at the par-71, 7,209-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course. The 54-hole tourney will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start for Friday's 36 holes. Saturday's tee times for the final 18 holes will begin at 8:30 a.m. off the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.

Barend Botha leads the Rockets with a career-low 70.3 stroke average and is followed by senior

Jamie Butler will also be competing in the Rockets' lineup in the tournament.
The Field
The Rockets will be competing against a 16-team field that includes five teams ranked in the Top 60 of Golfstat's rankings. No. 19 Oklahoma State leads the way and is followed by No. 35 Duke, No. 49 UNC-Greensboro, No. 53 N.C. State, and No. 55 Clemson. Also competing in the tournament is Appalachian State, Boston College, Campbell, Coastal Carolina, Davidson Elon, High Point, James Madison, Maryland, and North Carolina Central.

Junior
Barend Botha won his first collegiate tournament at UNCW's Seahawk Intercollegiate on March 27 with a record-tying performance. He tied Toledo's 54-hole record with a career-low 12-under par 204 that was established nearly 20 years ago by UT Hall of Famer and All-American Brad Heaven.

Toledo will return to action on Monday-Tuesday, April 17-18 when it travels to Pittsburgh, Pa. for Miami's RedHawk Intercollegiate.
