Toledo to Close Out Regular Season Play with Matches vs. Buffalo and Bowling Green

First-place Rockets looking to secure regular-season title and No. 1 seed in the MAC Tournament

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team will play its final two matches of the regular season this weekend. The Rockets (17-3, 8-0 MAC) will look to clinch its first-ever regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the Mid-American Conference tournament at home vs. Buffalo at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Twos Athletic Club, and then head down the road to close out the regular season with the Battle of I-75 presented by Cooper Tires at Bowling Green also at 1:00 p.m at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.

For the seventh consecutive week, Toledo is ranked among the top-75 programs in the nation, moving up to the No. 64 spot in the ITA Division I Women's Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point.

UT sits at the top of the MAC East Division standings with the league's only undefeated and program-best 8-0 record in this final week of conference play. The top four teams overall will play for the MAC title on Saturday-Sunday, April 29-30 in Muncie, Ind. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

The Rockets defeated Buffalo and Bowling Green earlier this season.

About the Rockets
Toledo defeated Miami for the second time in two weeks. Shalini Tallamraju clinched match point vs. Western Michigan on Sunday to extend Toledo's winning streak to nine matches and remain undefeated at 8-0 in MAC play. Additionally, Tallamraju has an individual record of 17-3, 8-0 MAC from the No. 3 court and has won her last nine matches.

About Buffalo (19-6, 5-3 MAC)
Buffalo was swept by Western Michigan and won its second match vs. Bowling Green last weekend. The Falcons won the doubles team point, and the two teams went back and forth in claiming singles victories until the match was tied 3-3. Ambre Amat won the No. 4 deciding court for the Bulls in a three-set victory.

About Bowling Green (6-14, 0-8 MAC)
Bowling Green has yet to get in the win column in conference play, and has lost nine-straight matches since March 18. The Falcon's closest matches were 4-3 decisions to Miami on March 31 and Buffalo on April 16. BG will host Western Michigan on Friday afternoon before taking the court with the Rockets on Sunday one last time.
