Toledo Heading to Florida for Coral Creek Club Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team will continue its spring season when it travels to Placida, Fla. for the Coral Creek Club Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 28-March 1. The tournament will be played at the par-71, 7,143-yard Coral Creek Club.
 
The Rockets will be competing against a field consisting of 12 Top 100 teams, including five ranked in the GolfStat.com Top 50 – No. 18 Texas A&M, No. 27 South Florida, No. 38 North Florida, No. 40 Kent State, and No. 47 Liberty. Toledo is currently ranked 84th and will join six other Top 100 teams – No. 66 UCF, No. 67 Florida Gulf Coast, No. 70 Memphis, No. 80 Cincinnati, No. 91 Jacksonville and No. 100 South Alabama. Kennesaw State, Illinois State, Lipscomb and North Texas will round out the field.
 
Toledo has finished under par in its last three tournaments. Its lineup will consist of sophomore Barend Botha (71.3 stroke average) at No. 1, sophomore Jamie Tofte Nielsen (72.3) at No. 2, senior Lukas Clark (72.4) at No. 3, junior NJ Botha (72.8) at No. 4 and senior Max Siegfried (74.3) at No. 5.
 
Clark and Barend Botha each shot under-par at the Mobile Bay Invitational to lead Toledo to a fifth-place finish. Clark carded a pair of three-under 69s to pace the Rockets at four-under par, while Botha's two-under par 214 was highlighted by a four-under par 68.
