Toledo Signs a Pair to 2023 Recruiting Class

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team will welcome Kate Passella and Siani Jones to Paul Hotmer Field next fall after the pair signed national Letters of Intent on Wednesday. Passella and Jones will join Toledo for the 2023-24 academic year.

Below is a look at the new signees to the women's soccer program:

Siani Jones
Hometown:
Johns Creek, Ga.
High School: Chattahoochee High School
Position: Goalkeeper
Anticipated Major: Media communications
Quick Facts about Siani:
  • Three-year varsity letterwinner in soccer, two-year varsity letterwinner in football, and one-year varsity letterwinner in flag football.
  • First-team all-state honoree.
  • Member of the Puerto Rican National Team.
  • Has one sister, Sierra. Father Sherrod played Division I basketball.
Why Toledo? "On my official visit, I really liked the campus and the family atmosphere. It felt like home."
 
Kate Passella
Hometown:
Columbus, Ohio
High School: Worthington Kilbourne
Position: Center Midfielder
Anticipated Major: Psychology

  • Passella is a four-year soccer letterwinner at Worthington Kilbourn High School under head coach Meghan Moore.
  • OCC Honorable Mention selection.
