TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's golf program will host the Rocket Classic as well as the Mid-American Conference Championships as part of its 2021-22 schedule, Head Coach
Jenny Coluccio announced today. The Rockets will participate in 11 tournaments in total, beginning with Michigan's Wolverine Invitational on Sept. 13-14.
"I

feel like we have a well-rounded schedule that is exactly what our team needs," Coluccio said. "We have a young group that we are excited to see develop over the course of our season."
Following their season-opening tournament in Ann Arbor, the Rockets will travel to Manhattan, Kan. for Kansas State's Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational on Sept. 20-21. Toledo will entertain nine schools at the Catawba Island Course in Port Clinton, Ohio as part of the Rocket Classic on Oct. 11-12 before wrapping up their fall at the Ozark National Tournament on Oct. 18-20 in Branson, Mo.
Â
"Our goal is to put together a schedule that continues to level up the demands of our program," Coluccio said. "We want to level up our travel, our competition, our training, and hopefully in turn our performance. This schedule gives us the opportunity to do that by returning to some sites we are comfortable with, bringing back the Rocket Classic at Catawba Island Club, and testing ourselves against some of the best college golf programs in the country at the Michigan Invitational and the Sunflower Invitational."
Toledo will begin its spring schedule with a trip to the Sunshine State for the Mid-American Match Play event on Feb. 7-8 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. Two weeks later, the Rockets will head to New Orleans for the Tchefuncta Invitational on Feb. 21-22.
