TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's tennis team heads south this week to face USF and Florida Gulf Coast.

The Rockets face the Bulls on Wednesday in Tampa before heading further south to battle FGCU on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled for noon starts.

"I'm excited for the players to have this opportunity to compete outside in Florida against some great competition," head coach Tracy Mauntler said. "We hope most of our MAC matches in April will be outside and so this is great preparation. This trip is also an amazing opportunity to continue to grow our team culture."

Last Time Out
Toledo won both of its matches last weekend, defeating UIC at home and Valparaiso on the road.

In the win over the Flames, the Rockets dropped the doubles point but received singles victories from Sloane Teske, Cassie Alcala, Patricia Panta, and Shalini Tallamraju to pull out a 4-3 win in Chicago. Tallamraju recorded the clinching victory, winning 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.

The next day Toledo took down Valpo 7-0 to cap a two-win weekend. Julia Kuszynski and Christina Fuller provided the clinching win in doubles, and the Rockets were victorious in all six singles matches as well.
