TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo registered a four-stroke improvement from Round 1 to Round 2 on Monday in the first day of the 15
th-annual Inverness Intercollegiate at the historic par-71, 7,172-yard Inverness Club. Coverage of tomorrow's final round will be provided on ESPN3 beginning at 12:00 p.m.
The Rockets are sitting in 12
th place following 36 holes at 38-over par 606 (305-301), 31 shots behind defending champion Tennessee (575). The Volunteers hold a four-shot advantage over Notre Dame (579). Auburn (582) and Texas Tech (584) are also within 10 strokes of the lead. Tennessee is looking to become the first school to repeat as tourney champion and join Florida as the second school to possess a pair of Inverness Intercollegiate titles.
Auburn's Andrew Kozan is at the top of a crowded individual leaderboard at two-under par 140 (68-72). Texas Tech's Andy Lopez in second place at one-under par 141 (73-68) but is competing as an individual. Five golfers are tied for third place with even-par totals.
Sophomore
David Amm is setting the pace for the Rockets at eight-over par 150 (77-73) and is tied for 34
th place. Senior
Grant Godfrey trails Amm by a stroke at nine-over par 151 (73-78) with senior
Rasmus Broholt Lind another shot behind at 10-over par 152 (77-75). Rounding out the Rocket lineup are senior
Nate Thomson at 14-over par 156 (78-78) and sophomore
Muhammed Afif Mohd Fathi at 15-over par 157 (82-75).
