Toledo, Ohio – University of Toledo women's tennis coach Tracy Mauntler announced the signing of Zina Mehikic (Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina) today. Mehikic joins the Rockets as a graduate transfer student after attending Morehead State University.

Zina Mehikic
High School: Gymnasium Mesa Selimovic
Hometown: Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Anticipated Major: MBA in Information Systems
Ranked No. 1 in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Played several European Summer Cups for Bosnia and Herzegovina
Why Zina chose Toledo:"My goal is to continue my education of my interest and I strongly believe that my attitude and aspirations match with the Toledo women's tennis program. Getting the opportunity to play tennis for the Rockets and attend the Information Systems program will enable deepening my expertise and broadening my perspectives. The University of Toledo is allowing me to pursue my athletic goals of playing collegiate level tennis for one more year, while furthering my education. I am very excited to meet my teammates and Coach Tracy, because I have heard so many positive comments about them. I am very happy to be a part of such a great team and it is my pleasure to play for Rockets. With my dedication and hard work, practicing on average of 20 hours a week, being one of the best students in the class, I believe that I would be a great fit in the team and school as well."
Mauntler on Mehikic:"We are thrilled to have Zina join our Rocket family. Her collegiate tennis experience was cut short when Morehead State discontinued their program. She will come to us with some great doubles experience and she will deepen our singles lineup significantly."
